Delicious starter – Red onion panacotta

Our normal eating habits are Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Sometimes, however, a starter can fit in wery well – especially if you are entertaining guests or want to do something special for celebration. Adding a delicious starter to the menu is way better than going in to the area of desserts

This dish i really great. Simple, decorative and delicious. You need to have some foresight as it contains gelatine and needs about 4 hours in the fridge to settle properly.

Ingredients for 4 servings as shown in the photo:

  • 2 gelatin leaves
  • 2 dl whipped cream (40%)
  • 2 dl sour cream
  • 1 small red onion (about 1 dl finely chopped)
  • 1 dl finely cut chives
  • Some moves with the pepper grinder
  • 2 spice measures Anna’s Super salt
  • 1 small jar of vendace roe, 4 lemon slices and chives for decoration

To do this:

  • Start by putting the gelatin leaves in warm water 5 minutes
  • Heat the cream until lukewarm
  • Squeeze out the gelatine and add the lukewarm cream, let it dissolve
  • Now mix in the chives, red onion, sour cream, salt and pepper
  • Pour into decorative serving glasses and set cold to solidify for about 4 hours
  • Decorate with lemon, chives and vendace roe and serve.
